Regitze Engelsborg Karlsen is educated in 2018 from the Jutland Art Academy and The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts. Karlsen’s work is based on a larger study of landscapes and raw materials through sculptures: The ideas of landscapes, the production of raw materials and the body of the sculpture, a meeting between reality, aesthetics and form. Her practices focus on biopolitics, ‘eco-feminism’ and ‘new materialism’. The human relationship with geology and the various organic processes and energy fields that exist in everyday materials. Investigating the tension between aesthetics and nature, studying landscapes as a form of documents and raw materials as archives of time and environmental impact.
