Public art enlivens people and places. Engaged and engaging public art is the fabric of thriving cities and communities.

Lacuna's approach to public art is always in dialogue with architecture and the urban context.

We work with a number of models in delivering successful public art projects, including:

  • commissioning by invitation

  • by open call

  • via an invited competition

  • with independent juries and advisory panels.

The possibilities and constraints of each site and project determine the best curatorial strategy, which may also include the purchasing of existing artworks.

“Lacuna offers a bespoke approach to each project, compared with several other arts consultancies which offer an off the shelf solution to every project… Lacuna provides drive, leadership and delivery in relation to its projects and activities…. Lacuna’s practical experience is a competitive advantage.”

– Simon Glynn, City of London Corporation
