The Showroom (est. 1983) is a contemporary art space focused on collaborative approaches to cultural production within its locality and beyond. It seeks to challenge the boundaries of what art can be, and how it can be a tool for a wide range of audiences. Its programme focuses on collaborative and process-driven approaches to realising artworks, exhibitions, events, discussions, publications, artistic knowledge and human relationships. The Showroom presents contemporary artists at a turning point in their career and works innovatively with individuals, organisations and their networks.
The Showroom is curatorial partner of the Tanner Lane Rotational Public Art Commission at Paddington Square.
